Experimental survey of meeting non-returners

26 Apr 2024

We will be experimenting with a new survey to help understand why people participate in one IETF meeting but not the meeting following.

This new survey will be sent directly to the ~850 people who participated in IETF 118 Prague but did not participate in IETF 119 Brisbane. The questions are intended to help understand intentions for meeting participation and any barriers that prevent that. There are also some demographic questions to understand if any particular group is more likely to experience barriers than others.

This survey will be entirely anonymous and, as with all of our surveys, the results will be shared in a blog post. If the results appear useful then we will repeat the experiment and potentially send it after each IETF meeting.

Please feel free to contact me directly at exec-director@ietf.org if you have any questions or comments, or send any feedback to the public mailing list admin-discuss@ietf.org.
